September already ??????

Hi everyone
nothing like being a week late to let you know about the new Challenge over at Black With Two... and I can now reveal my take on it... welcome to Spring. You may use the whole of the pallette but still, please, keep black as your dominant colour -
Dominant Black with your choice of a few or all these colours

I have also been busy trying to make a mark on my supply of kits - I guess one every two weeks is good going for  Below is my take on a Jodi Dobell kit.  If you ever get the chance to purchase one of Jodi's kits, do so - they are awesome.

As most of you are aware, I own The Scrapbooking Hut and I am currently looking for a Creative Team to help me 're-build' The Hut.  If you think you would love to be part of such a great bunch of girls, pop over to the Forum and check out the criteria.  I would love to hear from you.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Where has May gone????

Hi everyone
Oh my gosh - where has May gone - geez - I have been super busy with work and trying fight off the 'flu - I think I have won on the 'flu front' for the time being.
An up date on my entries from the Gundi Show - 2 first places - could not believe - both for my layouts - super pleased.
How are you all going with your May Challenge over at Black With Two - we have had a few entries, but would love to see more :)  I am currently working on my DT committment for the June Challenge and loving the upcoming colour combo - just wish the glue would hurry up and dry on one part of the LO so I can get it finished. Will post up on 1st June for all to see.
Can't believe two weeks ago I had 4 inches chopped off my hair and am still able to tie it back in a good sized ponytail... if nothing else, the weather up here must make my hair grow very fast.  I am loving the weather here at the moment although everyone is walking around rugged up with overcoats, scarves and gloves - me, well just long pants and a short sleeved
Have a great week everyone and see you all again for the big reveal of June's combo for Black with Two next week

Cheers - Di :)

Black With Two Challenge

Hi everyone, hope you had a wonderful Easter - I worked over the break but did manage to have the best fish meal on Friday night - a mix of Cod, Yellow Belly and Carp - magnifico....

Black with Two's April's Challenge is dominant black with grey & yellow (5% white permitted).  Below is the colour palette and my take on the challenge. I did this LO while I was in Wagga a couple of weeks ago - it is amazing how the 'mojo' comes back when you scrap with friends - thank you Dot & Beve xx
You can check out the rest of the Layout's and Cards over at the Black With Two Blog - the Design Team have come up with some amazing creations using this colour combination.

Black With Two March Challenge

Wow - the first month of Autumn already - let's just hope the weather starts to cool down and the rain actually goes where it is required and not Queensland, I think we have had enough up here.

Over at Black With Two the March Challenge is now on:

Dominant BLACK with RED & WHITE  - Black cardstock for your background and you are permitted 5% white which will allow you to use patterned papers.  Below is the colour palette to work from and my take on the Challenge.  Some of you may wonder why I chose that particular photo but I do believe that we must scrap the 'the good and the bad & thehappy and the sad'.  I love this particular photo of Ross and I.  I must admit this layout was 'take two' due to my wonderful feline companion who thought she may be able to do a better job and totally destroyed my first layout - still missing those

Where I am at, at the moment.....

It has been so long since I posted in my blog (Chook's a Scrappin') I can no longer access it so now I can't post to it (August last year to be exact - more on that month later) - oh well... a new phase in my life, a new chapter (or maybe a book) so a new blog to go with it as well.

I live in a different town, Goondiwindi but am very homesick for Wagga Wagga and all my friends down there - miss scrapping with the girls each month - not quite the same trying to keep the mojo happening when you are on your own, basically 24/7.

August last year ended up being the worst month of my life - I ended up being single by the 22nd August and packed and moved 1000kms away by the 28th.  I now life in a high-rise Queenslander - well one half of it anyway (my landlady is in the other half - mmmm) and now share my home with a feline 'vixen' called 'Willow'.   Willow enjoys my scrapbooking so much so that she completed destroyed a layout I had ready for putting together and, mysteriously, quite a few embellishments will probably never see the light of day again - I do believe she may have eaten them as she loves to chew on things.  Maybe she was a dog in a previous life????

I still have my shop, The Scrapbooking Hut, but it just isn't the same up here - no scrap days or get togethers, so I am in the process of trying to lighten the load of stock so I don't have so much to cart back to Wagga when I move back south in a couple of months and then it will be 'watch out wholesalers!! as I restock.

I still enjoy my scrapbooking but just hard to get motivated.  I am on the DT team for Black With Two Challenge, although I did step aside for 5 months while I sorted myself out.  Who would have thought this tough old Chook would end up being diagnosed with depression, anxiety and panic attacks - at least now I know I wasn't going around the bend but just not coping at all which is understandable I guess but I was always a 'suck it up and get on with it' sort of person.  I am getting better, still have my days and know that I cannot miss taking my medication 2 or 3 days in a

I am now working two jobs.  I hit the ground running when I returned from helping out the Rural Fire Service during the fires around Wagga in January. On my back to Gundi towards the end of January, I received two phones calls requesting interviews for the next day - I started work at both jobs two days later - one is a motel cleaner for Country Roads Motor Inn and the other is a Console Operator with Coles Express - some days I do catch my tail and bite myself on the bum...hehehe.

Anyway I am off to try and make this blog a little prettier than it is at present
Cheers and hugs to all
